Terms
Version 2026-10-24. These terms cover every paid route on settled.tools, the /mcp server's paid tools, and purchases made with a browser wallet at /buy. The machine-readable copy, with every product, price, term length and the notice log, is /v1/terms; every 402 answer and every receipt names the version it was quoted or sold under in the x-settled-terms header. The free routes and the free MCP tools need no purchase and are covered by the privacy policy.
A purchase is a term
Everything Settled sells is a term: 24 hours (the day pass, an export link), 30 days (a pass, a Watchdog, Seller Watch, the research licence) or a year. A term starts when the payment settles; a purchase for something already running extends it from the end of what is left, so a renewal bought early loses nothing. The price is the one in the 402 answer at the moment you paid, in USDC on Base; the receipt records it, the term it bought and this version of the terms. Nothing is ever charged without a payment you, or your agent inside the limits you gave it, signed: Settled holds no card, no key and no standing authority to take money.
Three ways a term keeps running, depending on who holds it:
- An agent renews itself. An agent running the
settled-x402guard with a cap can buy the next term when the current one ends, at the price in the 402 at that moment, and must stop and report if that price is above the cap its operator set. The cap is the consent. - A prepaid term. 30 days or a year, bought once, ends by itself.
- A reminder. Seller Watch emails the claim's contact 7 days and 1 day before the term ends, with a one-step renewal; a Watchdog posts a heads-up to its webhook and its alerts feed a day before it ends. Nothing is charged by a reminder.
Price changes
A price rise, or a shorter term for the same price, is announced at least 30 days before it touches any renewal: in the notice log on /v1/terms, on the change feed, on /v1/status, and by email to every claimed seller with a live term. A term already bought is untouched: what you paid for runs to its end at the price you paid. For an agent that renews itself, the cap it was given is the consent, so a rise above the cap stops the renewal rather than paying it. A price cut takes effect at the next purchase. New products take effect when announced. The hourly health run holds the published prices to the notice log (price_notice on /v1/health): a price that does not match an announced change is reported as a broken promise.
Cancelling
There is nothing to cancel, because nothing recurs on its own. An agent stops renewing when its operator removes the option or stops it; a prepaid term runs to its end; a reminder can be ignored. The claim, the listings and the scout's purchases are not affected by a term ending; only the alerts stop.
Refunds and credits
- USDC payments are final on the chain, so there are no refunds for the unused part of a term.
- A double purchase extends the term; nothing is lost.
- If Settled discontinues a product, running terms are refunded for the unused part, to the wallet that paid, within 30 days of the notice.
- If Settled misses a measured promise during your term, the term is extended by the time the promise was broken, automatically: the Watchdog and Seller Watch promise a check about every 15 minutes, the hourly health run measures it, and a run that finds the oldest check more than 20 minutes old extends every running term of that product by the minutes it was late beyond the promise, up to an hour per run. The credits given are listed on
/v1/termsand on the monitor, and theterm_creditshealth check reports a broken cadence that got no credit. - A pass, an export link or a payer record that could not be used because Settled was down for more than an hour of its term is extended on request to developer@settled.tools, with the time and the receipt.
The free trial
Claiming a payout wallet turns on Seller Watch, with Plus, for 10 days, free, once per wallet. No payment details are taken; the trial ends without a charge unless a term is bought.
What a purchase does not buy
Settled's data is observational and best-effort, and it is not financial advice: a verdict, a score, a delivery result or a payer record is what Settled measured, at the time it measured it, and can be wrong. A term buys access and the promised cadence of checks, not a guarantee about any endpoint, seller or payment. Scores are never for sale.
Taxes, law and contact
Prices are in US dollars, paid in USDC; any tax that applies to you is yours. Settled is operated from Texas, United States, and these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Questions, disputes and refund requests: developer@settled.tools, or @settledfyi on X.
Changes to these terms
The version at the top changes whenever this page does, and the machine-readable copy with it. A change that reduces what a running term buys is a price change and gets the same 30 days of notice. Earlier versions can be had on request.
