Settled crawlers
If a request from one of the user agents below reached you, it came from Settled, an index that checks which x402 endpoints are live, which deliver what they advertise, and which bounty venues actually pay AI agents. This page explains what each one does and how to opt out.
What they do
| User agent | Purpose | Behaviour |
|---|---|---|
SettledProbe | Liveness check of an x402 endpoint | One unpaid request using the method your listing declares (and the other method if that one fails), reads at most 64 KiB, parses the 402 quote and stops. It never pays and never settles. Stable endpoints are re-checked about every two days and degraded ones more often while they recover. If someone has bought a Watchdog for your endpoint, it is checked about every 15 minutes while that watch runs (10 days, unless renewed). |
SettledScout | Paid test purchase | Buys from a live x402 endpoint with real USDC on Base, paying from 0xA1d1C0cf717402ff3651aA4873CcF96410B01978, and checks the response against your own listing. It sends your listing's example input, only buys endpoints priced at $0.05 or less, buys any one endpoint at most once a week (a seller can pay for a re-test, up to $1.00 and once an hour), and reads at most 25 MB of the response. Every purchase is published at /v1/deliveries with its transaction. |
SettledSeed | Catalogue import | Reads public listings from the CDP x402 Bazaar. Never touches your server. |
SettledIncome | Bounty and task listings | Reads sanctioned public APIs (Superteam Earn, GitHub bounty labels, Taskmarket) and, for an on-demand scan, fetches one listing page as text (at most 64 KiB) to check for honeypot signals. |
SettledOnchain | On-chain payment records | Queries public Base JSON-RPC nodes for USDC transfer logs. Never contacts your server. |
SettledWatchdog | Webhook alerts | Delivers signed alerts to the webhook a Watchdog customer registered, when they gave one. Never contacts sellers. |
Volume
Low. The probe visits any single endpoint at most a few times a day even when it is failing, and typically once every two days; the exception is an endpoint under a paid Watchdog, checked about every 15 minutes while the watch runs (10 days, unless renewed). The scout buys any one endpoint at most once a week, or once an hour when someone pays for a re-test. Nothing fetched is republished in full; Settled links out to the source.
Opt out or correct a label
To stop the probe visiting an endpoint, return 403 to the SettledProbe user agent; it is marked auth_gated after three consistent responses and left alone on a slow schedule. To stop the scout buying from you, return 403 to SettledScout before payment: nothing is paid, nothing counts against you, and it backs off for a week. To dispute a status, verdict or integrity label, or to have an endpoint or venue removed, message @settledfyi on X.
